Fantastisk efterår/vinter der lægges op til, nu hvor de store klassikere køres i stilling. Lawrence of Arabia og Vertigo må godt blive de næste og eftersigende skulle der være rygter om Alien/Aliens på vej i foråret.

#4 Desværre er Aliens optaget på den lidt gritty og kornede måde og findes vist kun i en stand, så den ikke kan restaureres til Alien niveauet fra Quadrilogy udgaven.
Fandt dette: If any improvements to the picture and sound have been made since the last release I can’t tell. Interestingly James Cameron speaks of the film stock used (on the commentary) and that the grain evident on the print was an unavoidable consequence of Kodak’s product. I think the grain can work to the film’s advantage in certain areas, but when it becomes noticeable in some scenes, it is quite annoying. One notable part is in the ‘special edition’ when Burke tells Ripley about her daughter – the grain is awfully evident. Cameron also discusses that shooting in 2.35:1 may have helped the film, but at the time, he didn’t believe it was technically viable with the ‘vision’ he wanted to produce.

Jep, ved godt at den kornede film er noget man ikke kan komme udenom, men det virker lidt som om at komprimeringen er forholdsvis hård på den japanske udgave - kombinationen af de to virker ikke specielt godt.

Aliens glæder jeg mig til. Den japanske dvd-udgave opscaleres desværre ikke voldsomt godt, synes jeg.
