Howard Shores score til “King Kong” afvist

Universal og Peter Jackson kan bekræfte, at de i forbindelse med musikken til “King Kong” har takket Howard Shore for samarbejdet, og at de dermed har afvist Shores score til filmen. Samtidig med hans afgang er komponisten James Newton Howard blevet tilknyttet filmen i stedet.

Peter Jackson forklarer i en pressemeddelelse, at han har nydt samarbejdet med Howard Shore, men at de i de seneste par uger fandt ud af at de havde forskellige syn på hvordan scoret til filmen skulle skæres. Den bedste løsning ville så være at finde en ny komponist til “King Kong”. Shore arbejdede omkring et år på musikken og nåede at færdigindspille en stor del af den.

“King Kong” får premiere 14. december.

Det er måske lidt en skam, da Shore gjorde det fantastisk med Lord of the Rings. Men Newton er en af mine to yndlingskomponister. Hans score til Unbreakable er simpelthen fantastisk på en melankolisk og dyster måde. Så for mit vedkommende er det i hvert fald et plus :-)

Jeg tror stadig filmen bliver god... Shore er dygtig, men Mr. Newton-Howard har også lavet nogle gode scores...

Sorry to hear they fell out of sync these two... I guess, they worked together for far too long...

James Newton Howard, is a very good composer, I have to say his best work has to be The Village and Unbreakable as well as Sixth Sense wasn't bad either. He can do a great job, that much is for certain.

As for Howard, this must leave him with a bitter taste in his mouth and this can also confirm then that on those two DVDs made for promo this December around King Kong will NOT feature any news or features on the music which I enjoy imensely. Too bad really.

But James Newton Howard was a good choice.

As for Serenity, well that is one of the Newmans again. It is David Newman this time and I have the score to Serenity, not bad and it keeps the musical themes from the show. So that is a great thing...

And yes, I think Serenity will do just fine on the shelves of Sci Fi fans, and attract a few new ones as well.

Just so you guys know, Lord of the rings soundtrack will be released in its entirety, the full 180min special edition this coming holiday. So look for that collectors CD+DVD with the entire music in 5.1 Dolby D.

Anyway, Serenity is awesome and so is Firefly, I didn't give it a thought till someone say, SIT THE FUCK DOWN AND WATCH IT NOW! I did that and WOW...

I'm in love with Inara, Kaylee ah even Saffron is really hot...

Nov. 25th is the date I hear in DK... I'll be there to watch it... A couple of times... ;-)

Yeah, that seems to be the problem nostromo, most people are not initially interested (frightened by the concept or whatever) and then when they are dragged to see it, it seem 99 out of 100 end up loving it (but boy does that last one bitch about how bad it is *g*)

Layoutet vælter og er ulæseligt - skal det det?

#16, oftest har komponisterne faktisk ikke mere end et par uger til at skrue et score sammen :-)
