If you are talking about this version being cheap, then please bare in mind that it might suffer the same fate as the UK version which is without 2.1 surround.
I know a lot of people don't pay too much attention to this. I don't even have it, "yet" but one thing is for sure, when I saw it at my friends house who has an awesome 5.1 dts set. The two does have a difference in sound. The Australian version has a flat sound and the US has a depth to it that the AU does not have. And from what I see it has the same Sound as the UK one and not the US. Oh and it is only 675 min and not 900 min as they say on CD-WOW.
So go for the US version and not the AU or UK...
UK, version : http://www.axelmusic.dk/resources/covers/back/5039...
US version : http://www.axelmusic.dk/resources/covers/back/0245...

Thanks for explaining! I wasn't aware of that. Looks as if I should consider changing my inferior Firefly set :( Damn!
***EDIT***
I've checked dvdcompare.net and DVDProfiler database and the back scans on the covers. It looks as if the US version hasn't DD5.1 but Dolby Digital also.
Look on Audio for the different soundtracks. It's the same DD soundtrack for both regions.

On the back of the cover on the UK it says 625 min. and on the US it's 675 min. Do you know why there's a different scale?
Do the UK and US versions contain, the same amount of episodes?

Yeah I wish they had 5.1, but I said 2.1. where the UK version and the AU versions have only 2.0...
But for all I know it may be a packaging typo...
By the way, thanks for the info on dvdcompare.net I had never heard of it.
Anyway, I compared the two, and I might have been dreaming but I think I heard a little more depth in the US version as opposed to AU.
"am I the only one who thinks Kaylee and the actress Summer Glau is hot?"
Besides the Au version comes in a less attractive box set like all of our releases here.. They have a tendency to mess up box sets. I stopped with my X-Files. They are all messed up. Different hight, kind in general it looks screwy on my shelves.
Man I just got some of my girlfriends stuff today. It came with a truck! WHAT THE HELL? MAN women have a lot of shit... I am NOT giving up my office, hobby room OR my mini theater (soon to be finished). She can have the basement. ;-)
She'll probably win, but I am not moving anything of mine... (that's me talking now)

PAL er 4% hurtigere end NTSC. Ifølge DVDCompare og DVDProfiler er der ingen cuts eller forskelle.

R1 boxsets usually comes in nicer packings, that's for sure.
Kaylee is prime meat. Not the Kate Moss anorexia flavoured kind :D
