Screen Actors Guild Awards intensiverer kapløbet imellem “The Irishman” og “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” frem mod Oscar-showet.
Skuespillerne udgør den suverænt største del af Oscar-akademiet. Derfor er det værd at holde et ekstra godt øje på skuespillernes egen pris – SAG Awards – der kan give et fingerpeg om årets Oscar-favoritter.
Tre film skiller sig ud til næste udgave af SAG Awards, hvor “The Irishman”, “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood” og “Bombshell” alle lander fire nomineringer.
Bookmakerne har længe haft Martin Scorsese og Quentin Tarantino som de største Oscar-favoritter med henholdsvis “The Irishman” og “Once Upon a Time in Hollywood”, hvilket altså nu forstærkes med SAG-nomineringerne.
De to mandetunge film kan dog få konkurrence fra #MeToo-filmen “Bombshell”, der har Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman og Margot Robbie på rollelisten, som alle er nomineret til SAG.
Joaquin Phoenix understreger sin favoritværdighed frem mod Oscar med endnu en nominering for hovedrollen i “Joker”.
På kvindesiden stempler Scarlett Johansson stort ind i award-sæsonen med to nomineringer – både for Netflix-filmen “Marriage Story” samt “Jojo Rabbit”.
