Anyway she's SO damn hot it's just wonderful to have a wife who's so sexy and nerdy at the same time.
However here's some more info on the potential story line of star trek this time from other sources :
- Romulans (led by 'Nero') use the Guardian of Forever to go back and kill Kirk.
- Old Spock goes back and enlists the help of young Spock (who has not yet met Kirk) to stop this from happening.
- We first meet Kirk while he is going through the Kobayashi Maru test at Starfleet Academy.
If true, the Romulans are probably from "The Next Generation" era, and this would dovetail nicely with Nimoy's age. Of course a big part of the mystery is where will the Romulans attempt to kill Kirk and will it be up close and personal or during a starship battle? If it's in space, the Romulans will need to somehow get hold of a ship from Kirk and crew's era.
I don't know about you, but this is sounding very intriguing to me. Despite some of the more recent odd casting choices I'm still pretty excited about this one.
If you don't know what the Guardian of Forever or Kobayshi Maru test is, head over to IESB via the following link where they explain it for non-Trek fans. :-)

Star Trek needed to die and almost be forgotten, and be out of the limelight for a while to make a strong comeback. Because then we could have hoped for a strong team of researchers at Paramount who would be able to invest the required time and energy in creating something new.
My major problem with this new Star Trek is the fact that IT IS NOT NEW!!!!!
We've had Star Trek since the 60ies. It has branched out in, movies, comic books, novels, cartoons, games and so on. The universe Star Trek has developed, is enormous (granted not big enough compared to the time it's existed).
So why not take it to another level? Why ALWAYS use the safe bet? It will eventually kill the show. Same reason why THE ENTERPRISE didn't do well was the continuity problems and a boat load of "wannabe like other shows" in their stories.
I dreamt of a darker more realistic Star Trek with an epic story and epic battles. With serious perils and losses. With characters that would make you sad when lost. So I wrote a treatment for Paramount a year ago. Result? I got a letter saying I needed to do a rewrite based on the many requirements they HAD to have. Those requirements were the main reason why it's almost impossible to step out of the box and reinvent or at least offer something new to the franchise. I did the rewrite to the best of my ability and it got locked down. Meaning they have it as they say for future purposes. Meaning I can't talk about it, because if I want any part of it I can't give away any of the plot lines at all. lately, I've shown some of my close friends the first draft of the ST script, cause I was getting to the point that it's never going to be used anyway.
They can if they want take bits and pieces from the story and put it into the new one. At that point I'd get word of some of my material would be used. I didn't so... I don't mind sharing this much with you. Cause it's not going to make a lick of difference anyway. And Paramount isn't reading this. Now my Danish would have come in handy, but I can't write well enough to satisfy the readers here. And my wife gave up on speaking Danish to me. Now I have to teach her to speak Japanese. :/
So there... any people who want to do something for Paramount better get an updated guideline on what they WANT and don't want in a ST story.
Yet JJ's outline goes against all of this. So he must have impressed them.

I could imagine several ST-fans doing the same, so you should take a little pride in that ;)
