British Film Institute vil ikke længere støtte film, hvor skurken har et ar i ansigtet.
Kylo Ren havde det i “The Last Jedi”, og Blofeld fik det i “Spectre”. Jokeren havde det også i “The Dark Knight”, hvor afdøde Heath Ledger vandt en Oscar for rollen.
Flere skurke har igennem filmhistorien haft et ar i ansigtet. Måske for at vise, at de har ar på sjælen. Eller måske bare, fordi det ser fedt ud.
Men hos British Film Institute mener man, at det stigmatiserer mennesker med ar i ansigtet. Derfor stopper BFI nu støtten til filmprojekter, hvor skurken netop har et ar i ansigtet:
”Det er utroligt at tænke på, at film har anvendt synlige forskelle i stedet for skurkagtighed så ofte så længe,” siger BFI-chef Ben Roberts ifølge The Wrap.
Markeringen er en del af kampagnen #IAmNotYourVillain, der går til kamp for vilkår for mennesker med ar i ansigtet.

Jeg synes ærlig talt bare den her udvikling er lidt sjov. Så længe den ikke påvirker mig personligt, har jeg det fint med at stå på sidelinjen og grine lidt af folks idioti.

Eller mener man stærkt forbrændte personer, som typisk anvendes i gyserfilm mv.?
Når man bruger en person med et ar (enten ægte eller sminket), er det nok typisk for at give karakteren lidt dybde. Arret fortæller, at vedkommende har en fortid - måske en voldelig eller voldsom en af slagsen. Hvad de jo så også har i virkeligheden, uden at det gør folk til skurke (eller helte).
