Thank you for writing HBO.

We appreciate your enthusiasm towards our series, "DEADWOOD". HBO is grateful
that the series has such a devoted fanbase who contributed to the show's success
and making it an Emmy/Golden Globe winning HBO original. We are incredibly proud
of the series and also believe it to be a powerful and authentic piece of
programming. Be assured that your feedback is valued especially as we go forward
with the upcoming third season, starting June 11th.

Despite recent articles on the future of our HBO original series "DEADWOOD",
there has been no decision for the future of the series, and conversations
regarding a fourth season are ongoing. Since "DEADWOOD" creator David Milch is
working on another HBO Original series, we've granted our beloved Deadwood cast
the latitude to pursue other projects, for the time being.

Once again, thank you for your interest and we hope that you will continue to
find HBO to be a source of quality entertainment.

~ Sincerely, HBO Consumer Affairs Department ~

Nyhed fra IMDb:

'Deadwood' May Not Be Quite Dead

Deadwood creator David Milch is hoping to raise enough money to continue his critically praised HBO western. In an interview with today's (Tuesday) Philadelphia Inquirer, Milch said, "I'm doing what I can. ... Any financial participation could take the pressure off. HBO hasn't said no. ... If I were a gambling guy, which I am, I'd say odds are less than even money." Milch acknowledged that the show never became "the next big thing" for HBO as it had hoped. "They need a number of eyes we weren't providing them" in order to justify a budget of some $5 million per episode, he noted.

'Deadwood' Dead?

Fans of cult US TV western series Deadwood are about to be broken hearted - the show's upcoming third season will be its last. Creator David Milch has turned down the chance to film a shortened fourth season, preferring, instead, to end the show, set in the late 1800s, at the conclusion of its upcoming run. Disappointed Milch says, "I'm not competent enough to assess what combination of circumstances appears today to have curtailed (the series)," but he has hinted that the budget may have upset network bosses at HBO - each one-hour episode took up to 16 days to shoot and cost an estimated $5 million per episode, more than twice that of most hour-long dramas. Fans had an inkling that the show was almost over last week when castmember W. Earl Brown revealed the sets were being dismantled in a posting on the series' website. He wrote, "I don't know where they are headed after the dismantling - to storage or to the dump." The show remains a huge hit - in two seasons, it has won the prestigious Peabody Award, five Emmy Awards and British star Ian McShane picked up a Best Actor Golden Globe for his portrayal of foul-mouthed gang boss Al Swearengen.

Pis! Kapitalistiske skidesprællere i jakkesæt, hele bundtet.
