Sam Mendes’ første film efter “Skyfall” og “Spectre” bliver 1. verdenskrigsfilmen “1917”.

Steven Spielbergs produktions-selskab Amblin har skaffet rettighederne til Sam Mendes’ “1917”.

Den nu tidligere “Bond”-instruktør har selv skrevet manuskriptet og skal altså også selv instruere på optagelserne, der begynder til april, skriver Deadline.

Og der er store forventninger til Mendes’ film om 1. verdenskrig. “1917” forventes således at få en Oscar-venlig premieredato til december i 2019.

Steven Spielberg har tidligere stået finansielt bag Sam Mendes-filmene “American Beauty”, “Road to Perdition” og “Revolutionary Road”.

Det er den britiske landsmand Danny Boyle, der har overtaget jobbet som “Bond”-instruktør efter Sam Mendes.

Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers, but by their neighbours - even by children. I condemns all that Nazis did and stood for, but because history is edited, most people today don't realize, that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbours hate them simply because they were Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views - left or right?
